Caps have a will, but they don't have a willpower

0:2 after the second period...

As far as I remember Caps always had problems running into a hot goalie, and that's the case tonight. In the second period there were probably at least 5 moments where Caps would usually score, and Halak robbed them from all of them. And what is disturbing, Caps don't crush the net as they used to in previous games. Why? Hard to understand it. Caps have a will, but they don't have a willpower.

Ovi's stats after 2 periods:
TOT 15:28, 12 shifts, AVG 01:17, PP 06:18, EV 09:10, 5 shots on goal, 4 attempts blocked, 2 missed, 1 hit

Very long shifts, not good and it showed... Ovie had at least a couple of very good chances, but it was at the end of his very long shifts...

Can it be changed in the third? If Caps would score one goal, but they will have to crash the net, there's no alternative...

Final: Caps - Habs 1:4
Ovie ended up with 8 shots on goal, but Caps sinked.

I'm disappointed and bummed out, but can I say I'm surprised? No! Tonight's game continues an unhappy trend of the Caps failing to close the deal, of allowing their opponents to rally and generate momentum. I'm not even sure the Caps have a will anymore, much less willpower. I fear the heart and desire has been ripped from them, and that they're going into game 7 with little if any confidence in themselves. Disaster is just a heartbeat away.

Caps need a new coach.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm happy my team won, but I still feel for you guys. 54 shots and ONE goal? I know I would soooo angry I were in your shoes. Look on the bright side, if it weren't for Halak, you guys would've probably won.

Anyways, Game 7 will be interesting! Best of luck to both teams. :)

Whatever the Caps need, can they get it in time for Game 7?

They absolutely have to solve Halak or it's lights out for sure.

I'm not gonna lie though the 54 shots the Caps got on goal -- they weren't exactly the hardest. Look a Brookys all he had to do is chip it in but no he shoots it right into Halak's chest.

The Caps had a large amount of shots but only a few were goal worthy.

Recipe for failure:
Bonehead hockey and too many Russians. Caps are toast.

I love it when someone decides to make a crappy comment but are too scared to put their name behind it. Nice one tough guy

Right, why Swedes lost the Olympics? Too many Swedes. Same for Russians. :-)

Like I said, if Ovi can't beat Halak from his favorite spots, nobody can. Either score like Fehr or crash the net, work on rebounds. And there were rebounds yesterday. When Halak was pulled, this is how Caps scored on him, and that's the only way to solve him.
