Caps dodged the bullet and stopped the skid
Whew, the win is the win, we'll take it. :-)
Ovi's stats:
After 2nd:9 hits! The closest in that category were Erskine, Knuble and Alzner, each had 4 hits.
Total ice 15:59, 14 shifts, average 01:08, PP 04:17, even 11:42, 3 shots on goal, 4 attempts blocked, 8 hits, 1 giveaway, 1 takeaway
Final:
2 penalty minutes, total ice 24:17, 24 shifts, average 01:00, PP 05:11, even 19:06, 6 shots on goal, 7 attempts blocked, 1 missed, 9 hits, 1 giveaway, 2 takeaways
One of the Ovi's hits @ 00:20.
Another nice one was vs. Andrew Ladd who totally landed on the bench (man, he looks dead there :-).

Semin speaks with Malamud translating (After the first question he interrupts Slava: 'I got it')
But the hero or one of them (another was Tomas Fleischmann who got OT winner) was Alex Semin. 7 shots on goal and a hat-trick. Without this guy Caps won't go too far in playoffs, the team needs his performance like it was tonight. Semin, Backstrom and Green, young guys, without them no chance for Ovi to get SC.
I really like little Ovie, number 85. Last year Mathieu was sent to Hersey after he got a food poisoning, he just needs to avoid having sushi :-). How little is little Ovie? He is listed as 5'10", but Igor Larionov was 5'9". Give Mathieu a chance!
Lil' Ovie , Neuvy, Fleischmann speak with the media about the home game against the Thrashers.

And a shout out to Neuvy for another good game in net (and surviving after being hit by Bufuglien).
The team owes you more wins.
I watched most of this game, they played well, just couldn't get it in.
I can't wait until Green is back full time, he'll be doing a lot for the offence (and d).
I was pretty much avoiding the Leafs game... who the efff puts a guy worse than a pylon out there? Sigh, Leafs still have some damaging floaters that I don't understand...
Go Caps! lol It was a nice paced game, Semin's goals were nice, good hustle for the most part.
Also, thanks to Sasha scoring, I got to see his pretty face smiling... then staring off into space/the scoreboard. <3
And he got me points for my fantasy team! lol
I need an Alex Semin shirt... not sure if I should get the Capitals t-shirt, or the Sasha Minor one lol!
@Mango,
I din't watch Leafs yet, but the general response was that they were playing well because of GM's Burke work in the summer.
@ tj,
Well they, the Leafs, lost 5-2 just recently to the Philly Flyers. It was a sad night.
@tj: The Leafs are, as a whole, 100% better than last year in every way.
That being said, they still need work. Burke has done so much for the team, he is an amazing GM for the team. Management is not sound though, I hate the damn coach.
Wilson is okay, but he honestly isn't doing much. His line matches aren't very good and I don't like how he deals with problems most times. (calls ppl out to media all the time.)
We also still have some floaters in pretty sensitive places which makes us vulnerable.
John Mitchel F: "worse than pylon" aka "turnover McGee" aka "amazing pass misser" = He misses great opportunities, turns the puck over frequently, and only makes things worse.
Francois Beauchemin D: Doesn't pay attention on ice, misses plays, and he's slow.
Mike Komisarek D: I haven't given up on him yet, but I think the pressure of TO is too much, like so for Lee Stempniak, he'd probably do better in a smaller place. He's trying to do too much and not producing enough.
Last night for the Leafs wasn't the best, I mostly watched the caps last night so I don't know. They lost 5-2, made mistakes and had a lost of pk's to deal with.
This makes 3 losses in a row, but I'm not worried.
Anyway, enough Leafs rambling.
I'm for the Caps for Stanley Cup this year though!!!!! Go Caps...
Speaking of coaching problems... Caps could also use a tune up there as well. Bruce is making some questionable moves right now imo
Awesome. So glad Sasha did an interview. He sounded great and very mature. Loved how he understood all the questions.
