Alex at Lavar Arrington Show with Chad Dukes

Alex Ovechkin has been a busy man lately, promoting his new DVD, "Alex Ovechkin: The GR8," which hits stores Tuesday. And, you know, playing hockey. But on the Lavar Arrington Show with Chad Dukes Monday, Ovechkin made some interesting points, including what to expect to see on his DVD (here's a hint: "his body and his vacation") and his All-Star Game selections.
On Alex Semin's fast start and future in Washington: "I think [he's] playing great. He always has a good start all the time. He helps out team...I hope [he's] going to stay for next year for Washington."
On who he would select with his first pick of the All-Star Game: "I don't know the rules, so it's pretty interesting." (Asks Arrington and Dukes if they know the rules). "I'm going to take probably Semin."
On what to expect on the DVD: "It shows my life, my hometown, my family, my friends. They are going to see some crazy stuff, like a little of my body and a little of my vacation."
On what he wants people to learn about him from the DVD: "People know me as a hockey player. Most of the guys, and most important the girls, want to know who I am outside of hockey rink."
Do girls like him? "Some girls yes, some girls no. It depends."
Later, DC Sports Bog's Dan Steinberg separately asked Ovechkin why he is shirtless for most of the DVD. His response? "I have great body."
Sometimes, the stories just write themselves.

Gag. The toothpick is in the dvd. Why put someone who won't be around for long in something that will last for ever? She just entered his life and is instantly included on a dvd about his life. She just wnats to be seen to help her modeling job. She isn't friends and family.
It's called "sending a message". Just like a middle class brat from Moscow would do. Poor little thing needs to grow up! Obviously a real gangsta! :D
If Ovie has some kind of relationship with Valeria, I think it's only fair that she is in the DVD which seems to be partially about his summer off, which she was a part of. I haven't seen the DVD so I don't know if it defines their relationship, but I'm sorta wondering if they are just good friends now. Yes, I'm seen her at Kettler, at Caps games and a Redskins game with him, but does Ovie go out with her otherwise? The little I've heard about Ovie going out this season includes Backstrom, Green, and Lavar Arringtion but no Valeria. She seems to spend a fair amount of time in NYC. Either way, Valeria doesn't bother me. She's in the DVD because Ovie wanted her to be in it and that's good enough for me.
Opps sorry I was confused, I remembered it was just Green and Backstrom with LaVar, not Ovie.
If Ovie is happy, I am happy. If he wants Valeria in the DVD, that obviously means something to him and she shouldn't be ridiculed because people have issues with her ruining their fantasies with Ovie. Sorry if I sound harsh but it's Ovie's life and who are we to judge?
No wonder one of his favorite tunes is 2Pac's "Only God Can Judge Me."
He calls her his "girlfriend" in the video...I dont think Ovie can win either way..If Valeria was a bit on the chunky side she would be called "fat". As long as he is happy and his level of playing hasnt gone done, then who cares what his GF looks like. Valeria looks like a fun loving gal, who probably has no problem keeping up with Ovie in the partying department!
She is barely in the DVD. And the few parts where you see her, she is really just in the background, she isn't acting all "look at me!"
A ton of his friends make brief appearances - she is one of his friends. I personally don't think it matters either way.
By the way, y'all... you are giving me spoilers! lol. I haven't even gotten home from work to watch it! TJ should write 'SPOILER ALERT' on the article so people who haven't seen the DVD yet won't click on it. :P
I do not think it is fair to bash those who aren't happy that Valeria is in the video or to dismiss them with the accusation of jealousy. We do not know their minds. Maybe they met her and didn't have a good impression. Some people who have met/seen her have conflicting opinions - dislike, like, neutral.
It also sounds like some object because at the time the film crew was in Moscow they had just met: too new to be singled out. It was during those days when he was saying they were together and she was saying they were not.
It doesn't sound like her looks or crushed fantasies a part of the opinions posted above.
All that matters to me is seeing lots of happy SHIRTLESS Ovie in the DVD. Nothing and no one will spoil it for me. I won't allow it.
