After his team fell behind by two goals in the first period Sunday in Ottawa, Coach Bruce Boudreau entered the locker room and told the effing Capitals that the upcoming effing period was effing likely the effing most effing important they would effing face all effing season.
Before HBO 24/7 first episode there were warnings about adult language, not for kids, etc. I was salivating though, hoping that would be a new and better version of Slapshot, especially since Bruce Boudreau was featured there (Washington Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau appears as an opposing player in one scene.). Well, at least his apartment, for the most part. It turned out Bruce's profanity was as primitive as Caps offense have been recently. Just insert 'effing' after every word and you got it.
Compare it with Slapshot:"
They come here tonight... to scout the Chiefs! The toughest team in the Federal League! Not this bunch of... pussies!
Or something close to Reggie's speech:
It's their rink, it's their ice and it's their fuckin' town.
But tonight we got our fans with us! - Yeah!
They spent their own dough to get here, and they came here to see us.
Let's show 'em what we got. Get out on the ice and let 'em know you're there.
Get that stick in their side, let 'em know you're there.
Get that lumber in his teeth, let him know you're there!
Bleed all over 'em. Let 'em know you're there.
Give 'em a good warm-up, Danny. Let's go.
Come on, fellas.
I am really disappointed and I am going to call Bruce and complain... :-)
