Today Dan Bylsma revealed that Malkin has a torn MCL and torn ACL in the right knee, he’ll need surgery and he’ll miss the rest of the season. Can he come back late in playoffs? It's doubtful.
Let's see now. I've said many times that Pens won the Cup because Malkin, not Crosby, was the playoff's MVP. I can guarantee that Crosby and Pens will never get a chance at the Cup while Malkin is gone, just like Crosby could never win Olympic gold if half of his team was from KHL. Life isn't fair. It isn't unfair. It just is.

I like Geno so let me say I'm saddened by his devastating injury. IMO he's the #1 reason the Pens won the Cup in 2009. The Pens could win another Cup with Geno and without Crosby, but not the other way around. Geno's absence takes some of the joy out of the Caps win today over the Pens. I hope Geno has a full and complete recovery and I wish him all the best.
Makes sense. Pens would have won the cup without Crosby's 31 pts.
