This was a disappointing loss in some ways, but it's not realistic to expect the Caps to win every playoff game. Well, maybe many fans expect it and when it doesn't happen, it leads to all sorts of angst and despair.
This was a very winnable game by the Caps, which would have given them a strangle hold on the series. The problem was the Caps showed their superiority in short bursts and very infrequently. For the majority of the game, the Rangers played with more hunger and desperation, as you would expect from a team down 2-0.
The Caps made too many mistakes without the puck, and as a result went to the penalty box way too often. These are the main issues that need to be addressed and adjustmenst made if the Caps are to be victorious in Game 4.
