9 months ahead of playoffs THN uses ultrasound to pick Caps as a Cup winner

Here is the latest headline: "The Hockey News has chosen the Washington Capitals as their favorite to win the 2011-12 Stanley Cup".

Obviously we won't stop believing until Stanley Cup will be ours. But here are some thoughts on what should happen for this to happen:

  • MarJo must center Ovechkin (that is actually not a joke)
  • Coach Boudreau must get a second volume of "The trap series". The first volume is "How to play it", the second volume is "How to beat it" (Still Tampa Bay must lose in the first round)
  • Sergei Fedorov's resurrected and will play a puck moving defenseman...
  • Ovechkin will score Ovechtrick during playoffs run for the first and last time in his career (Just like Gordie Howe his Gordie Howe hat-trick)
  • The weather forecast for May and June of 2012:

"Lotsa snow in DC on Ovechkin Circle..." (At least more chances than snow in hell, isn't it?)

Hey, don't get mad, I'm just kidding... Let's hope the stars will align and Captain Ovechkin will lead us not into temptation, but deliver the Stanley Cup to DC in June!

Brother TJ, testify.

Yes you're preaching to the choir here, but as Emily said, TESTIFY Brother TJ! I don't care if hell and/or DC freezes over!

May Ovie lead the Caps and their fans out of the wilderness of despair to the Promised Land at last. It seems like it's been almost 40 years in the desert hasn't it?

That being said, how accurate has The Hockey News been predicting the Stanley Cup winner? I hope it isn't like the Sports Illustrated curse, where if you appear on the cover you have an epic flameout. The Caps don't need that kind of curse anymore IMO.

Ha, I just saw this over on RMNB.

A house in Arlington VA is up for sale. If you have a spare $795,000 and act fast, YOU can be Ovie's neighbor, the house is a few doors down from his on 16th St.

Contract offers are due by 5pm Tuesday. And no, neither the Batmobile nor the Varlymobile are included in the asking price. :)

Seeing Fedorov play in Magnitogorsk, he's still good and beautiful to watch(skills wise...and looks), but I doubt he could handle NHL again. I think he could've got another year in if he stayed, but going back wont happen. Sadly. :P

MoJo I like with Semin, who I think would look good with Knuble, no?

If someone signs Vesa Toskala, the Ovechtrick could happen.

I think, with the changes they've made and the way the players seem mentally, it could happen. I hope it does. I would so jump Semin on his cup day. :P
