Alexander Semin is in Krasnoyarsk, Ovi's nowhere to be seen

Krasnoyarsk, August 13, 2011.
Alexander Semin finally presents the stick with his and Ovechkin's autographs to a woman who's the winner of the project "Name the ice arena!" in Krasnoyarsk. She in turn gives a stick (Bauer!) to a kid on the left. Everybody's happy, Semin is still in Krasnoyarsk enjoying Siberian summer.
The question is, where is Ovi? Is he training in undisclosed location? (St. Petersburg maybe?) Because it is clear he is not in Moscow. The same day Alex Semin was doing his gift presentation, Moscow Dynamo was meeting with their fans. Ovechkin was nowhere to be seen. Is he still Dynamo's President Mikhail Tyurkin consultant?

Siberian summer? Everyone's in jackets and long pants!
Brr.
Agreed Emily, I thought the same thing, it looks cold there!
I think Semin is wearing a new Caps hat. I only recognize it from the stripe with the team name going up the left side. Varly's new Avs hat had that same stripe. Interesting if so because when did Semin get a new Caps hat? Probably I am making too much out of nothing, but McPhee went to meet with Green and Nicky in Calgary about things having to change in the locker room, and they met with Ovie about how to be a better captain while he was in DC in July. Maybe someone visited Semin in Siberia? Unless they don't consider him a key component when they talk about things having to change. They also had those discussions with Laich during his contract negotiations, and it sounds like Carlson is on the bandwagon too with his recent interview by TEB in the WP.
Maybe Semin just had a package sent to him or he picked up the hat before he left for Russia. But it seems reasonable that McPhee would want to talk with him as well. Or maybe I'm crazy and this style of hat isn't new.
Varly's new Av's hat:

It's actually pretty hot there. I don't get the jackets! Maybe early morning, it's usually cool/cold but Siberian climate is just like most of Canada. It gets really hot.
It's good to see Sasha. Also, maybe good to not see Ovi? We've even seen Kovalchuk more this summer, working outside mostly!
From what it sounds like, none of my friends who've been known to run into him have seen him, which means he hasn't been at his usual bar/clubs. I'm not going to speculate. I like what Boudreau said about him, coming back as angry bear and him asking how to be a good captian. I'm proud of my fellow russki
Sasha's hat is similar to the hat that made its debut at the 2011 draft, though it's white and the draft ones were red:

If I had to guess, I'd just say that the Capitals' PR department is really good and they prolly just ship the new merchandise to the team members at their homes.
Especially the Russians - they always want to have the newest, freshest look.
I want to see him wearing the purple shorts again hehehehe! ;)
People, I think they are on the new ice rink, maybe that's why they are wearing all those jackets and pants.
@Emily, thanks for the link. So the hat is new, probably you are right about Semin getting it shipped to him. I do wonder though if he was ever part of the discussions with players about things having to change. Then again Boudreau said something in a recent interview to TEB about calling all the players soon so they'll catch Sasha one way or another.
@Devi good point about them probably being on the ice!
I was looking on Russian websites but couldn't find any articles talking about this ceremony after it happened, only before. Hopefully soon will show up with more pics.
I read on a Russian site that the Ukrainian woman who won the hockey stick for naming the rink gave it to the 10 year old boy pictured, who is the top scorer on the local team (average of 4 goals per game). Of course he was very excited to met Semin, he likes how Semin plays and watches his games. The woman also won a season ticket to the home hockey games of team Sokol but probably won't be able to attend, being from Ukraine.

They said there was heavy rain and strong wind. I saw some other pics on tumblr and they are actually outside.
I don't think the arena is fully built yet. I could be wrong, but I think talks for it just started last year.
It probably took place in the morning, and with rain brings down the temp more.
Someone posted more pictures. I probably should be looking but I'm supposed to be working right now haha

I love Sasha's accent. Siberians have the best accents! :) (Sorry Ovi! lol)
Yulina,
would you mind giving credit to the blog you got the pictures/info from ? I can tell they are from my blog from they way they were edited. Plus your url links are linked to Tumblr.

I apologise, I didn't realize where they came from. A friend emailed the small links to me about finding them.
Thanks for posting them though, are you from Krasnoyarsk/Russia?
I'll bet anything, Ovi is hiding 'cause he doesn't want anyone to know how hard he's working. He wants to surprise everyone by coming into camp in tip-top shape.
