Ovechkin at Moscow country club (update)
Ovechkin was spotted at a suburban golf club in Nakhabino where radio station "Silver rain" celebrated it's 16th anniversary.

Mago is there... I think Mago is a bodyguard, he is always around.

No beer for Ovi for now, even on Saturday.

Utro.ru, Anna Bychenkova:
The richest hockey player of the world spends his summer in Moscow. Paparazzi have often caught Alexander Ovechkin at parties, social events and restaurants in the capital. This Saturday 25-year-old athlete came to a suburban golf club for 16th anniversary of radio station "Silver rain". Hockey player came to the event alone. "Yes, today I am alone," he told to "Ytro.ru" with sadness in his voice. One of the most eligible bachelors in Russia seems desperate to find love. Before the show started on the stage, set on the picturesque shore of the pond, somber Ovechkin left the event.LOL.
Update from kleo.ru

Despite the cloudless sky, the "silver rain" still happened, the organizers attached sprinklers to the trees 7 feet high.
Alexander Ovechkin wondered why he needed an umbrella, until he passed through the VIP-entrance. After the unexpected "shower" Sasha refused to pose for picture. He ran to the river to bask in the rays of the setting sun.
Update from glomu.ru:
The rumor was spread that under one the patio umbrellas was hockey player Alexander Ovechkin. We found him on the shore of the local pond near the cocktail party tables. The hockey player thoughtfully contemplated the sunset, ignoring the kebabs, sausages, vegetables, herbs and other picnic joy.
"Is it possible that you won't take my pictures?" began to flirt the NHL star when he saw the photographer with camera. "Well, let's take my pictures," agreed the photographer.
This idea seemed so funny to a hockey player, that he withdrew all his objections.

Say 'cheese' (Photo by Ekaterina Chesnokova). How's that torso?

Wow. Fashion point of view, I really like that shirt. Odd thing to notice since he looks DAMN FINE! Also, normal pants.
He's a lot thinner than I would have thought, looks very healthy. That last picture is so cute, poor Ovi. I really hope he finds a nice girl like his mom. Maybe he'll start looking seriously?
Too bad I didn't go to Russia this summer, I could have cheered him up! ;)
Ovie's all alone and sad, looking for love? Maybe he'll expand his search beyond Soho Rooms and the Imperia Lounge. I'll happily volunteer to, you know, help him make that adjustment LOL. :)
Yulina, we'll have to take turns cheering him up. Where is bwitch16, I'm sure she would like to help brighten Ovie's mood.
And to answer TJ's question, wow that is an awesome torso, Ovie's looking beyond mighty fine. Too bad his upper body is hidden beneath a t-shirt. IMO Ovie is being very coy to add to the drama and suspense when he shows up for training camp in September. I can't wait.
@BobbyG: I almost got to meet Ovi last summer. I ran into Kovalchuk at a tea house in Moscow while they were training together. Ovi doesn't strike me as a tea drinker though, so I guess he choose not to join him.
He's a big guy, I'm sure he could handle the three of us. We'll have to show mama Ovechkina we mean no harm though. :)
I don't think he's being coy, I think he is just taking care of himself more and staying away from media (especially Russian media). Not even that, he's probably just doing less bad things. His arms look in good shape, not just the torso. If he just diet and working on appearance, his arms wouldn't be as good. Working hard has paid off.
Wonder how Sashka 2.8 is doing.
@Yulina: by coy I meant exactly what you said, staying away from the media. IMO there's been so much talked about and written about his training, conditioning, appearance etc. he decided to fly more below the radar this year. He seems content to just let the photos that do leak out speak for themselves, even considering the brouhaha that erupted over his Mike Vogel interview video.
I agree, there's enough of Ovie for the 3 of us, but can he handle all the...attention? I don't think his Mom would object because we're obviously interested in other things not his money LOL.
Oh, and don't get me started on Ovie's arms...and shoulders.
@BobbyG: Oh, okay. For a guy like that in Russia it's hard! Especially since he did so much last year. I think he's been careful not to go to big name places when it's not a specific event.
If we don't be greedy, it could work. I'm in Canada, so that helps. I also could go back to Russia in summers to see him then. You two can fight over non-Can/Rus dates! lol
I'm totally crazy for arms/shoulders. And asses. Don't forget the asses.
@Yulina: I don't mind sharing Ovie, but you picked out the best places to meet him, Russia and Canada. USA is good, but I want more than just DC and other such places. Let bwitch16 and I have some of the Russia/Canada action!
Seriously, I feel sorry for Ovie sometimes, not having much privacy and constantly being under the media microscope, especially in Russia. I know he has close friends from childhood, which is good, because they are from before he got rich and famous. Now it must be very difficult for him to make new friends who are interested in him as a person and not as a superstar hockey player. Finding a woman to someday marry has got to be even more difficult.
@BobbyG: I didn't meant to be selfish, I swear! haha In Canada I don't really leave Ontario. I've been to Montreal a couple time, but you could have outside Ontario and as for Russia, Moscow is big city! haha I actually don't really go to Moscow that much unless friends drag me! haha We could rotate Russia days?
It's honestly tough in Moscow because a lot of people there are trying to be something, most are not something so they crowd people like Ovechkin to seem important. He loves it because he grew up there and it really is wonderful city, it can just be a bit much. I still think he goes out, just not to high end place where he will be center of attention. It's good to get away. Probably staying at his dasha, maybe not even going to central Moscow places.
I feel like I'm bad mouthing Russians, but it's like that even here. It's just more noticed in Russia because people only look at Moscow and famous people. I don't get bothered there haha!
I would love to just talk to him, it seems like he's a very nice person. It actually surprises me sometimes how different hockey players are when you meet them.
@TJ: Why could I totally see him pouting after getting wet? Like a little koshka! :) So like him to flirt and let her take pictures after, too.
@Yulina: you are being very fair and gracious to offer to rotate Russia days to meet and "entertain" Ovie. I don't know if I wold be so generous if our situations were reversed LOL.
I agree he loves the attention of hangers-on, the people who crowd around him to seem important. IMO they also give Ovie this attention to live part of their lives vicariously through him. This is OK I guess, as far as it goes, but IMO not conducive to establishing new friendships and certainly not to develop a relationship leading to marriage if that's what Ovie really wants.
I just read TJ's update, and like you I can also picture him pouting about getting wet. I also find it interesting that he seemed to be thoughtful and introspective, looking at the sunset, preferring that type of moment over partaking of the food that was offered. I really like this image of Ovie. Sure it's fun to read about his partying exploits, but it's also nice to know he can also enjoy some quiet moments. Maybe this is a new experience for him, part of his promise to do things differently this year. Whatever the reason, he seems more a complete person, the kind of human being I'd like to meet in person and get to know personally.
@BobbyG: I'm not greedy. I could always hang out in Saint Petersburg and cheer up whatever's bothering Fedor Fedorv. There's bound to be something I can help him with :P (I've ran into him and Sergei a few times, nice guys. haha)
That is kind of what I meant. I think he realizes a lot(but not all) the people who crowd him are fake to him but his love of Moscow (and yes, the positive attention) make him want to stay, despite the bad media. He is also very aware, which he's said in Russian interviews (don't know about English) that with the life of young people in Russia, Moscow especially that he'd probably be dead or in jail, so he likes to help people. Probably why his mama is so protective, I would be too.
He would probably really enjoy Krasnoyarsk, I'm surprised he hasn't been up to visit Semin that much. It's so beautiful.
When he talks to Russian press, he is a lot more... "serious?" in that he speaks more from the heart (language maybe) about what he thinks. I've heard interviews where he talks about growing up and stuff that makes me think he's a lot more introverted and way more humble than what comes across. It's just coming out more now that he is challenged to prove himself in America.
Just my two kopecks, who knows the true wonder of Alexander Ovechkin.
Hey ladies, thanks for thinking of me in my abscence. I have no doubt he can handle all three of us....;-)~
Yulina you had to mention his ass again, I need a moment, lol. and what does koshka mean? too funny :-)
I really do wish he would let us see some shirtless pics though, it's killing me. Purely for scientific purposes of course. Is it September yet? Capscon can't come soon enough.
At least the station wasn't called "Golden Shower."
@Yulina,
Ovi can be bashful in person, quiet and self-effacing, as if he wants to be accepted but isn't certain if he'll be liked. It is interesting compared to his high-energy goofiness that surrounds him the rest of the time.
@bwitch16: I didn't realize I said koshka, sorry. It means kitten in russian. Sorry for mentioning his ass, but it's hard to miss. The only good thing about Bruce putting him on the point.
It's only a matter of time until he's captured sans shirt. I wish I could go to the Capscon. I might try to next year. I can just rest happy I was at the Ott game that stopped their losing. :)
@O: I'm not sure I know what it means, but I think I might. If I have it right, he is very lucky. haha!
@O (again lol): I'm not surprising. A lot of Russians are like this, especially in the US. I wouldn't be surprised if it's from people badmouthing him outside of Washington, either. Like I said, I haven't met him, but he seems almost shy away from the rink. Again, not very surprising when you hear him in Russian. He's seems pretty down to earth.
Ah! He is sad and alone ahhhhh!
Ovechkin come to my arms, they are open for you!!!
@ O, He sounds like a typical hockey player, humble in person.
